The second Ancients Alive event was a big success. The number of reenactors themselves was slightly lower than last year's, however, we still had a lot of activities to keep the many visitors engaged. Joe Balmos's "A Day in Ancient Greece" provided a great display of arms and equipment for the public to handle, as well as a small archery set and target for those who wanted to give it a try.
A large bust of Caesar Augustus was displayed to remind all who came by of the power and majesty of the boss.
We were joined by members of Legio III Cyrenaica again and this time we had Greeks as well as Romans join us. We had a slinging demonstration area, the archaeological sandbox, tours of the Locust Lawn mansion itself, and some drilling by our legionaries.
All in all, a great venue which was well-received!
