Legionaries Cartonus, Gerbulo, Servius, Etruscus, and Auxilia Matrovix set off on a crisp Sunday hike through the Indian Hill Trail in Sterling Forest, NY. The terrain was rough and the trails were hard at times, putting our period shoes and balance to the test. The expedition afforded some very impressive views of the Orange County landscape and we encountered a few people, most of whom were very genial to the soldiers of the Senate and People of Rome. Once back to our chariots, the evening was concluded at the House of Cartonus with food and merry-making.
